Production Operative General Assistant – Rotating Shifts

Pay Rate: £13.43 per hour

Location: Cramlington

Length of Role: 3 months temporary

 

We are currently recruiting Production Operatives on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing business operating a modern production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual to join a growing team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Shift Pattern (Weekly Rotation – 2 Shift Operation)

Early Shift 

· Monday – Wednesday: 06:00 – 14:00

· Thursday: 06:00 – 13:00

· Friday: 06:00 – 11:35

Late Shift

· Monday – Wednesday: 13:55 – 21:55

· Thursday: 12:55 – 19:55

· Friday: 11:35 – 17:15

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment

· Actively support Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE) standards.

· Comply with all health and safety legislation, company policies, and best practices.

· Participate in OHSE training and risk assessments.

· Report hazards, unsafe activities, or faulty equipment to supervision or engineering teams.

Housekeeping

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation.

· Participate in 6S activities and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.

Production & Operations

· Support multiple operational functions across the site following training.

· Supply materials to and from slit lines using a pallet truck.

· Operate core cutting machinery.

· Assist with packing operations including banding and wrapping.

· Control balers and manage waste materials.

· Support Slit Operators (excluding direct machine operation).

· Follow work instructions accurately to ensure quality, efficiency, and low waste.

· Carry out quality checks and record production data as required.

Quality & Compliance

· Work to prescribed quality standards and customer requirements.

· Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.

· Operate data collection systems in line with company procedures.

· Support audits (internal and external) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Flexibility & Continuous Improvement

· Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across different areas once trained.

· Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives and personal development.

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

· No formal qualifications required.

· Manufacturing or production experience desirable
