The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established structural engineering specialist and steelwork contractor based in Stockton. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add experienced Platers to their skilled production team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable and growing business, with long-term work and the potential to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and design specifications

Mark out, prepare, and assemble steel plates for fabrication

Shape, align, and fit steel sections to required tolerances

Use workshop tools and machinery safely and effectively

Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications

Carry out visual inspections and identify any defects or issues

Work to production targets while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

Follow all health & safety procedures at all times

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 4:40pm

Overtime available on:

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

Overtime paid at time and a half

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience working as a Plater within a steel or heavy engineering environment (essential)

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Good knowledge of fabrication and plating techniques

High attention to detail and quality standards

Self-motivated, reliable, and a strong team player
